However not every course at these levels would be available for international students on Ireland study visa. Students need to make sure that they program they are choosing is on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP).

Level 7 Ordinary Bachelors Degree

The level 7 bachelors is a 180 ECTS credit undergraduate degree. This level 7 Ireland bachelor degree duration is 3 years.

Level 8 Honours Bachelors Degree

The level 8 bachelors is a 180 to 240 ECTS credit undergraduate degree. This level 8 Ireland bachelor degree duration is usually 3 to 4 years long.

This is because the level 8 bachelor’s degree may be slightly more expensive if it is a 4 year degree due to an extra year of education which would mean a whole year of tuition and living cost.

Post-Study Work Visa

If applicants also want to experience the ability to work full time in a role of their choice after their study in Ireland, then the eligibility for any degree for a post-study work visa may become a factor for the choosing to pursue a particular degree. Hence if a post-study work visa is what the applicant wants, then they will have to choose the Level 8 bachelors honours degree which would grant them a post-study visa for at least a year. However, if this work experience in Ireland is not a priority, then they could also go for level 7 bachelors.
