Another very important requirement is that you must be sponsored by your child or grandchild who is in New Zealand and is a New Zealand citizen or a resident. There are age requirements applicable here. Your sponsor in New Zealand must be 18 years or above of age.
Certain other requirements of being an acceptable sponsor r sponsor must also be met. The sponsor must not be sponsoring anyone else.
Another requirement is of providing your relationship documents with your sponsor. You must provide verifiable evidence that you are related to your sponsor that is you are grandparent/parent of your sponsor who is a New Zealand citizen or a resident.
Along with this you must also be fulfilling the health requirements. Applicants need to get their medical examination done to apply for this visa. Moreover there is a requirement that you must agree that you will pay for your own health related cost. If there is any health related problem while you are in New Zealand you need to pay yourself for that medical cost. You need to incur the expenses yourself.

The length of the stay of parent and grandparent visitor visa is up to 6 months at one go. This visa would be granted for a period of 3 years. in 3 years you may come to New Zealand and leave New Zealand multiple times. The condition is that during one time period you may stay up to six months only.
It means you cannot stay for more than six months that is six and a half months or seven months or more in a single attempt. You stay for six months, you leave New Zealand and then can again come and stay for this period. The total stay allowed for this is 18 months in a period of three years.
