Dependent Child visa for New Zealand student visa holders, AEWV Work Visa Holders and Post Study Work Visa

New Zealand student visa holders and Work Visa Holders can support dependent visas for their children. There are two types of dependent child visa options for NZ student visa holders and NZ work visa holders - visitor visa and student visa. If the dependent child is of school going age that is 5 years or above then you may apply for dependent student visa for your child. If the dependent child is below 5 years then you may apply for dependent visitor visa for your child. The type of child dependent visa that is visitor visa or student visa also depends on many factors other than the age.

Dependent child visa for New Zealand student visa holders Student visa for dependent child

New Zealand Study visa holders can apply for student visa of their dependent children if following conditions are fulfilled

  • The parent is doing a PhD program or Masters by Research Program
  • If none of the above course applies then your spouse may support student visa for your children only if he qualifies for a work visa as a dependent of the student visa holder.

Visitor visa for dependent child of student visa holder

New Zealand Study visa holders can apply for visitor visa of their dependent children under following conditions

  • If you are enrolled in a course which is not a PhD program or Masters by Research Program
  • Your spouse does not qualify for a work visa as your dependent

Dependent child visa for New Zealand AEWV visa holders

New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa holders can apply for student visa for their school going children or visitor visa of their dependent children below 5 years if following Salary conditions are fulfilled
 
You must have a current annual income of NZD$43,322.76.

New Zealand post study work visa holders can apply for student visa for their school going children or visitor visa of their dependent children below 5 years.
