New UK study visa policy January 2021 announced

UK has always been a preferred Study abroad destination among international students. Recently the UKBA has announced some changes in the UK Student visa policy. These changes would come into effect from January 2021.
 
Below are the highlights of these new UK Student visa changes
 

  • According to the new UK study visa policy there will be no limit on the students who would like to study in UK. It would welcome all the students who wish to study in UK and who fulfil the conditions of the new UK Student visa policy
  • The second attractive point in the recently new announced policy is that it is implementing the new UK Graduate route which is popularly known as UK POST STUDY WORK VISA among international students in summer of 2021. This means that any student starting a course in September 2021 would be able to apply for UK Post Study work visa or PSW visa UK after completion of study in UK. After completion of degree Bachelors or Masters UK Study visa holders would be eligible to apply for 2 years of UK PSW visa and PhD graduates would be eligible to apply for 3 years of UK Post Study Work visa.
  • Another attractive point of UK Study visa while on UK PSW visa applicants can work at any skill level. They can also switch into other work visa routes on finding a suitable job. So if the applicants while on Post Study work visa gets an offer of job from a licensed sponsor which is of a RQF 3 level can switch to skilled worker route. This skilled worker route has a route to settlement.
  • The total points to be granted a UK Study visa will be increased from current 40 to 70 points. Currently there are 30 points for CAS letter - Confirmation of Study letter and 10 points for funds. From Jan2021 the points would be

  • The biggest attraction is for students who would be studying Master’s degree. These students already had the advantage of applying for UK dependent visas for their spouses. The added advantage is that along with applying for UK Spouse visa the study time limit would be removed.
