Immigration, refugees and Citizenship, Canada, formerly known as CIC presented a report on the first 12 months of Express Entry. As per the reports, it was concluded that in the first 11 draws from the pool, 85.5% of the candidates who were invited were residents of Canada. Following 12 draws, the figure dropped to 61%, which means 39% of the invited candidates were residing outside Canada.
According to the year end report, a large number of candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were selected from the pool. This was because high number of foreign workers with Labour Market Impact Assessment got job offers who wish to immigrate to Canada on a permanent basis. The third pool selected CEC candidates. This caused effect on the relative number of invited candidates residing inside Canada who were drawn soon after the Express Entry System came into operation.
Express Entry pool will be the main source of applications to meet annual immigration level targets for certain economic immigration. With these factors in mind, the number of invited candidates that are residing outside Canada may continue to increase through 2016. The portion of Canada based candidates dropped into second half of 2015. This led to an increase in the number of invited candidates who were residing in different countries around the world.
Canada and Philippines experienced absolute decrease in the number of invited candidates. In case of Philippines, the change was marginal. It is to be noted that the invited candidates increased with the progression of the time.
