If the course your spouse is applying for New Zealand study visa for below mentioned courses then you may qualify to apply for New Zealand work visa as dependent.
Course option 1- A qualification at Level 10 of NZQF
If the qualification the student wishes to study in New Zealand is at level 10 of New Zealand qualification framework the dependent spouse may apply for work visa
PhD is a qualification at level 10.
Your partner may apply for work visa based on your status of New Zealand study visa holder.
Course option 2 – A qualifications at Level 9 of NZQF
If the main applicant that is student applicant for New Zealand opts to study a qualification at level 9 of the New Zealand qualification framework then the dependent partner may qualify to apply for work visa
Master degree is at level 9 so as per the policy your dependent spouse may apply for New Zealand work visa
Course option 3 – Qualifications at level 7 or level 8 included in long term skills shortage list
If the qualification the main student intends to study in New Zealand is Qualification at Level 7 or Level 8 and is included in Long Term Skill shortage list (LTSSL) then spouse may apply for work visa as a New Zealand student dependent. Here the applicants must note that all qualifications at level 7 or level 8 may not qualify you to support work visa application of the spouse. Along with this the condition is that the qualification must be included in the long term skills shortage lists of New Zealand.
