lf you are a registered nurse in India having 1 year of nursing experience post your registration then you may apply for registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand. After obtaining registration with NZNC you become eligible to work as a nurse in New Zealand. This pathway may qualify for resident visa for New Zealand.
Requirements of Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Bachelor of Nursing degree
- Current registration as a Nurse
- Post registration work experience of 1800 hours
- IELTS band score of 7 each in reading, listening, speaking and 6.5 in writing or equivalent OET score

To be eligible you
- Must be working for an accredited employer or
- Have a job offer from one
- Meet Green List requirements -Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and Pay for employment to be at least the median wage or above.
- Be under 55 years of age
- English language, health and character requirements
Important note 1
- Your employment must be full-time and genuine
- The role is permanent, or fixed term for at least 12 months, or a contract or contracts for at least 6 months or more.
