Description:
Through this degree programme a student will be able to develop their personal art and design ideas, underpinned by research done by contemporary practice, through to quality finished products in selected media. With strong practical focus and subjects on offer include drawing, art history, sculpture, photography, graphic design, clay, glass, printmaking and digital design. A student will learn to work independently in the selected field so that one can produce authentic and high-quality work of art and designs. You’ll become efficient, professional and ethical by operating in creative industries while you’re still studying. You’ll be made capable to apply your research skills in order to cop-up with the current developments on your field. After identifying the models of excellence in your department, you’ll be able to build up connections with them. You’ll be contributing to the development of a vibrant creative industry in Aotearoa New Zealand as an informed and laterally thinking innovator. With time and experience, you’ll enable yourself to produce your own high-quality original work in the media of your choice such as printing, clay, glass, painting, graphic designing, photography etc.
With studying the course work, you’ll need to work as well as intern with setting up exhibitions, art galleries etc.
