Steps for Canada Express entry for Federal skilled worker program
Canada express entry is an immigration system which offers Canadian permanent residency. Introduced by the federal government of Canada it is an online system created to deal with Canada’s immigration application intake. It offers three program for permanent residency Federal skilled worker program, Federal skilled trades program and Canadian experience class.
Here are the steps for Canada Express Entry for Federal skilled worker program:
Step 1 Check eligibility for Canada Express entry
The program has minimum requirement of
- Skilled work experience as per National occupation list – Managerial jobs -skill type 0, Professional jobs -skill level A, Technical jobs and skilled trades -skill level B
- Language ability – Minimum score of CLB 7 equivalent to IELTS 6 (6,6,6,6)
- Education – From a foreign university needs to be assessed under ECA (Educational credential assessment)
- Age
- Work experience – Should be for a period of 1 year full time (30 hours/week for 12 months), In case of part-time 15 hours/week for 24 months.
- Valid job offer if ANY
- Adaptability
- Proof of funds
Step 2 Assessment of application for Canada Express entry
- Once the candidate has the minimum requirement he would be assessed on the above mentioned requirements for Canada PR.
- Points would be awarded for the above mentioned categories
- Currently, a candidate needs 67 points out of 100 for Canada express entry.
Step 3 Filling Documentation
Candidate now would be required to complete the documentation process:
- Create Canada express entry profile in the pool and wait for ITA (invitation to apply)
- Ensure profile is accurate
- Keep proof of profile handy and provide proof of information when asked further for the processing.
Step 4 Waiting for Round of Invitation
- The round of invitation happens every 2-3 weeks. Canadian government would declare a cut off and the candidate who meets the cut off and above can process further. The score keeps varying every time so the candidates need not worry.
- While waiting you can improve your score and chances by finding job in the job bank, improving language score, improving education or contacting for PNPs.
- Receive ITA (Invitation to Apply)
Step 5 Respond to ITA
- The ITA would provide information about program and next step.
- Check the program you have been invited under and respond accordingly.
- Provide documents in support of express entry profile and respond within 90 days.
Step 6 Submission of Immigration fee and PPR
- Final step would be submission of immigration fee and Passport request for Canada PR.
Processing fee is $825 and right of PR fee is $500.
